Impossible to express how grateful my family is for their service, their professionalism, their compassion. Just wonderful people. Remaining in our home was very important to us. Dr. Lauren Cassidy did our consultation; she was so patient and kind. Dr. Shannon performed the euthanasia; also so sweet and caring. Given the situation, the event itself was as peaceful & loving as I could have hoped. I also greatly appreciated the communication from Heron's Crossing, and the ability to handle details via email & web forms. I fully recommend Heron's Crossing should you find yourself in need of an objective opinion / consultation, or end of life care.

I had to put my 18yo cat down today. The staff at HC took all the info about my location (which can be difficult to find) and made sure Dr. Payne had everything. My appointment was the following afternoon. She called when she was on her way, was exactly on time. Dr. Payne was compassionate and kind while being extremely professional. We chatted for a few minutes (to put me at ease I'm sure), answered my few questions, and explained the procedure (every step of the way). We took care of business. It was very quick - the cat was sedated within a minute from the first injection, and after the 'overdose' was administered he was deceased in less than another minute (Dr. Payne verified, checked his heartbeat). It really s*cks putting down a long time pet, but they made it as "painless" as possible.

We found out our 5 year old Kiki had feline leukemia, with serious anemia, rapid weight loss, and blood clotting. Our imagined future with this precious treasure was cut short, and we decided to give her one more night at home with us, as comfortable as possible. (it was the hardest night and most difficult decision of our lives). I'm 30 and have lost my mother, several other relatives, and other pets. But somehow this loss has been the most difficult one of all. I am so grateful that I googled in-home euthanasia in my area. I was skeptical of such high reviews when I first saw this place, but now I know why there are so many. I rarely, if-ever write a review, so that may speak for itself. We didn't want Kiki to leave this world scared. Dr Krista arrived to our home the same day, and she exhibited INCREDIBLE sensitivity, care, and attune-ment to both Kiki and us (my wife and myself). She got to know Kiki a bit, thoroughly reviewed what led us to our decision, and completed agreed with our tough choice. She clearly explained how the procedure would work, leaving nothing for surprise, either for us or the animal. I am completely confident that this was the most painless, fear-free, and comfortable way that Kiki could have left this earth. Still in tears as I write this, I cannot express the gratitude I have for this company and Dr Krista specifically. She left discreetly, soon after Kiki passed, giving us plenty of room to process our grief. I can’t tell you how thankful I am that I chose Heron’s Crossing to assist in the final transition for my 10 year old dog. Dr. Krista was an amazing addition to our very sad, sad day when we said goodbye to our beloved Aladdin, our companion for over 11 years. She was comforting, patient, kind and so warm and loving, even though she had just met Aladdin for the first time. This day was a hard day, and although the thought of never seeing Aladdin play, go for walks, and do all the funny things he used to do, will not be a part of our family anymore, Dr. Krista left us with the feeling of peace and that Aladdin would be well taken care of even to the very end. Heron's Crossing made a very difficult time and decision much easier. All I had to do was make 1 call and they handled everything from the vet that came out to our house and the cremation. Making such a decision is hard enough and they just did everything to make sure they didn't add to our pain and in fact helped us feel better.

Dr. Shannon was fantastic. She set our minds at ease and kept us informed about what to expect every step of the way. There’s no better place to say goodbye to your fur baby than at home when that time comes.

I recently had to make the difficult choice to euthanize my 17 year old dog, and I have never experienced a death that was so loving and peaceful. He was a crotchety old man of a dog, and being able to have his passing take place in his home, surrounded by familiar things, made such a difference to him. It also made a huge difference to me, and I think that having the extraordinarily kind and compassionate Dr. Lauren as a kind of death doula helped me process the death of my beloved companion.

I can’t say enough kind and wonderful things about Heron’s Crossing. I had to put my 13 year old boy Rocky down last October and then my almost 15 year old boy Charlie yesterday. That’s two extremely hard decisions in less than a year. But Heron’s Crossing made the process so much easier. The intake was compassionate on the initial phone call both times, the coordination was easy and seamless, and Dr Shannon showed so much gentle compassion for each of my boys when their time came, and for me as I sat by them when they passed. The service is worth every penny and took away so much stress from what are some of the hardest days we have to make who love our pets. If this day has come for you, they will make it easier.

Last week, we had to make the gut wrenching decision to let go of our 13 year old German Shepherd. He was a joy to our whole family for every day of his life and we didn't want to do it, but the time was here, whether we wanted it to be or not. Dr. Krista was a blessing. She was patient and let us work through our emotions during the process. So glad we chose Heron's Crossing to do this at home and not at the vet. Dr Krista just left our house and my heart is in pieces, but it is also full at the same time because of the wonderful experience she provided. My beautiful tux of 5 years was diagnosed with terminal cancer & it became time to let him go.
